چکیده
Introduction Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA monitoring in wastewater has become an important tool for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) surveillance. Grab (quantitative) and passive samples (qualitative) are two distinct sampling methods. Although many viral concentration methods such as the usage of membrane filtration skim milk reported, these generally require large volumes wastewater, expensive lab equipment, laborious processes. Methods The objectives this study were to compare workflows (Nanotrap ® Microbiome A Particles coupled with MagMax kit RNeasy kit) SARS-CoV-2 recovery grab Moore swab samples. Nanotrap particle workflow was initially evaluated without addition enhancement reagent 1 (ER1) 10 mL wastewater. RT-qPCR targeting nucleocapsid protein used detecting RNA. Results Adding ER1 prior significantly improved results ( P < 0.0001) processed by automated or manual workflows. concentrations a whole showed higher 0.001) than 150 using 250 workflow, respectively. Spiking known genome copies (GC) inactivated into indicated that limit detection ~11.5 GC/mL 115 digital PCR Discussion These suggest could substitute traditional compromising assay sensitivity. can be resource-limited areas, is appropriate large-scale COVID-19 wastewater-based

Experimental Protocol for Detecting SARS-CoV-2 in Screenings and Grit Samples of Wastewater Treatment Plants
Introduction: Although various liquid, solid, and gaseous streams of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) have been analyzed in many studies for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA, no study was found to sample and detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA in screenings and grit samples separated from primary treatment units of WWTP. Hence, this study aims to provide an experimental protocol for sampling and extracting ...
متن کاملSerology Testing for SARS-CoV-2: Benefits and Challenges
As COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, it is an emerging need to discuss different aspects of this pandemic. In any pandemic, valid and rapid laboratory diagnostic tests are critically important for early diagnosis, which will increase the rate of successful treatment and more importantly prevent the spread of the disease.

Efficacy of 3-Layer Felt Masks Containing Polypropylene Membranes in Particle Filtration with SARS-CoV-2 Size Range
Background and Aim: The use of a mask is an effective measure to reduce the transmission of Covid-19. Today, due to the lack of N95 masks and medical masks with good performance, felt masks are widely used due to their ease of manufacture and low cost. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of 3-layer felt masks containing polypropylene membranes in filtering particle size in ...
